  • 5 star review  Labranda riviera premium resort and spa review board basis All inclusive. 22/06/2018 The hotel is situated in the area of mellieha in Malta. which is about 30 mins by private taxi or about an hour and a half by coach to the airport. The hotel comprises of 353 rooms 18 of which are disabled friendly. Equipped with walk in shower raised toilet.with handrails located on the walls by the shower and by the toilet. The hotel opened in back in 2002 but closed several years later for refurbishment works. The hotel was reopened in the month of June 2017. They also charge an environmental tax which is payable upon arrival.the cost of this is 50 cents pppd. This is because the island of Malta is so small. The reception. The reception is warm and welcoming with light background music playing .The reception is tastefully decorated in 2 tone colours. And no matter where you are in the public areas there’s a beautiful panoramic view of marfa bay/med sea. There is always something to look at. The hotels information booklet states there is free wifi in all public areas and some rooms . We were in room 225 and we have had no problems connecting to the WiFi. Restaurants. The hotel boasts 3 different restaurants the buffet restaurant is called mirasol where food is a plenty the second is al a carte tratoria.Tropea it’s an Italian restaurant. And the 3rd is called East winds. This is a Chinese restaurant. It does not matter which one you choose as all of them prepare beautiful food. but please bare in mind East winds and the Italian al a carte have to be booked in advance. Cleanliness. The cleanliness of this hotel I have to say is the best I have come across in a long time. From the corridors to the kitchen equipment in the restaurants you really could eat off the floor . The attention to detail the house keeping staff posses is of high quality. They are really good every nook and cranny is checked and checked again to make sure no surface goes untouched. The staff. The staff at this hotel really are some of the best I’ve come across . Nothing is to big or to small to ask , they really are a credit to the company. They really do go out of their way to help the guests Corridors . Corridors are quite wide bright and airy and easily passible if you are in a wheelchair. Also if you are disabled and in a wheelchair there are refuge points located on every floor. Just incase something did go wrong and they need to evacuate the hotel. It just saves the hotel staff time of knocking on every disabled persons room . ( In case of fire please stay in you’re room with the door firmly closed until help arrives plug any cracks in the door with wet towls) The corridors floors are lined with tile with a stitching pattern. The rooms . The rooms are bright light and airy and decorated to a high standard. With a fully walk in shower with a seat for the mildly disabled to sit on whilst showering .They also have real quilts on the beds. Which I thought was a nice touch. There are more than enough hangers in the open wardrobe to hang you’re clothes on. The rooms are cleaned daily . Beds stripped and new bed linen put on. towels changed every day ( unless they are unused) The t.v in the room has 10 English channels mostly news but it’s better than nothing . The hotel provides in room tea and coffee as well as a partially stocked mini bar ( excludes alcohol) the rooms electric sockets are both E.U 2 prong as well as the standard UK 3 prong plugs which I found handy and to be honest I was quite pleasantly surprised to find the uk sockets in the rooms. Entertainment. The nightly entertainment has been great mostly singers however they are great singers . They also have a grande piano for any guests who can play. The hotel also has a children’s entertainment programme . However I don’t know what this is like. But from what I’ve heard it’s excellent. Pools . The hotel has 2 out door swimming pools both are salt water even the small children’s pool . There is also an elysium spa which has an indoor salt water pool . And is absolutely stunning. Infact in my opinion it’s a must. There is also a fully equipped gym where you can have a good workout. All of the above descriptions are included in you’re all inclusive wristband. However the spa treatments are chargeable. Bars. There are 3 bars one is located by the pool and the other one inside is called the Camino bar. Located Upon the terrace on floor level 1. The bar is decorated to a good standard and is very modern . And the one in the lobby of the Hotel reception this one is open 24 hours. The general manager Albert is a really nice guy and goes out of his way to help the guests and staff. You can really feel the british influence here. Another great point is the fact they do not except stag and hen party’s. My thoughts All in all the hotel is sophisticated set upon the jaw dropping site that is mellieha bay where you can indulge in some water sports, or take a boat trip to either comino island or gozo, ride a jet ski or even ride the banana boat. or even try parasailing. Would I come back ? Yes I would definitely. Try and stop me . If you have never been to Malta then this place is waiting for you she is a little gem the people are some of the most courteous people i have ever come across and I know you will love it too. Thanks for reading take care guys and happy travels. End of review. (Reviewed by Lawrence Schruyers and David Dodd on behalf of coddiwomple travel ltd.)
